Blood Flows

Love like blood flows
it bloats us
until we reel against each other
like two soldiers
surprised to find themselves alive.

We drink from overflowing cups
and splash our chins and legs
and the moon gleams down
and fills us with hunger
and we like animals
eat ourselves by pieces.
