We Are All Divine – Part 1

It’s all a metaphor.

Pillars_of_Creation

Me, you and the things which define us all mean something, all represent something.  We/One might say that the Universe is the Creation of One, that Light and shadow are parts of the same Single Cause.  One might say, metaphorically, that positive ethical actions toward others bring about a metaphysical transformation in the world which bring us all closer to understanding that First Cause and so understanding Ourselves.  One could say that it improves yourself and the other person when you act kindly to someone else.  One could simply say “Listen, all is One.”

Universe is the Creation of One

It’s all the same.  It’s all a metaphor.  But saying it is a metaphor doesn’t mean there isn’t Truth within.  We choose between truth and falsehood, right and wrong, every day.  Putting metaphor and metaphysics aside, it is a general rule not to cause pain and harm to others.  Some might say this is the Heart of the Law.

I am liking Hillel more and more every day.  I really appreciate the clarity.  All this mysticism and metaphysics seems to lead back to just a few statements in Pirkei Avot (Sayings/Principles/Ethics of the Fathers).

The atom fragments into pieces and those pieces into pieces into pieces into pieces into infinity perhaps and yet it is all models and metaphor and mental mechanics.  And yet we draw charts like trees of things and concepts splitting and reconnecting as we look for a Primary Source.  Even if, on a physical level, there is no Primary Cause, it does not change the fact that we have minds and emotions, feel pain and pleasure, and attach meanings to people and things.  This world of concepts is something we have created inside ourselves.

That being said and understood, I want to say this… (Go to “We are Divine -Part 2”)
